Over the past three years, I have been working with students to prepare writing their college essays. These can be the difference between a mediocre school and a top-notch one.
I do not write them, of course. Just give students advice as to what would sound great to college recruiters and admissions committee members.
Sometimes, these essays can be great. Quite a few of my students are now in top colleges and universities … and I am proud of them.
Others are hoping to earn a spot in the top schools in the country next year. If you are one of them, good luck!
Sometimes, the prompts are challenging. That is where I can help. I went through one last night that I felt was terribly offensive.
Why? It excluded people of certain religions. It does not happen often, but I can help advise in these cases.
In addition to the essays, one area that I have been working on this year has been acclimating students to the digital SATs.
